Tower Place Renovation
Atlanta, Georgia
Tower Place was originally developed in the early 1980s to include a high-rise office tower surrounded by a low-rise shopping mall and entertainment complex. The internally-oriented mall did not present an inviting image along the street and never drew the necessary volume of patrons to maintain its viability. Phase I included the redevelopment of the mixed-use retail mall into a festive entertainment complex and a renovation of the existing hotel. The scope of work included street friendly vehicular and pedestrian circulation patterns and the creation of an "urban streetscape," complete with broad sidewalks, planters, trees and café-style dining. Phase II of the project included the expansion of the retail component along the southern end of the site toward Peachtree Road.
