The goal for the Alpharetta City Center Master Plan is to create a framework for the development of a new Civic and Commercial core for this rapidly expanding suburban community north of Atlanta. The Master Plan envisions a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly district, combining public service buildings, public parks and gardens with a new network of commercial and residential development sites, creating a new higher density urban center for the City.
SRSS services included Master Planning, Landscape Design and Architectural Design for the redevelopment of 22-acres of property in downtown Alpharetta. Components of the new Master Plan include a new City Hall and site for a new County Library, a 5-acre City Park, a new Town Green, a 450 space Public Parking Garage, and planning for four future development sites, which the City of Alpharetta intend to make available to private-sector developers.
The design team worked with city officials to prepare Development Guidelines establishing requirements and outlining recommended design solutions for the future development of buildings and open spaces within the City Center district. David M. Schwarz Architects worked with SRSS as a design consultant for this project.
