Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart is committed to sustainable design. Our firm is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council and our design staff currently includes professionals accredited by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) program. We have the experience, knowledge and ingenuity to incorporate a broad spectrum of energy conservation, water use efficiency, indoor environmental air quality and material sourcing into the buildings that we design. Limiting the negative environmental impact of building construction and maintenance are important goals for our projects, and vital to protecting our quality of life into the next century. We were a leader in bringing LEED certification into the commercial real estate market in Atlanta and the Southeast U.S. The 171 17th Street project at Atlantic Station was the first LEED Silver Core & Shell - certified high-rise office building in the world when it opened in 2004. This building was also the first high-rise office building in Georgia to achieve any level of LEED certification.
We support the efforts of our international clients to design and construct their projects in accordance with recognized sustainable design principles. Each market comes with its own particular opportunities and challenges with regard to site conditions, water usage, energy supply and consumption, workplace environmental quality and availability of materials and resources. We offer our international clients the benefit of a decade of designing successful, LEED certified projects and the added perspective our experience brings to their projects.
