Adjacent to the Georgia Diagnostic & Classification Prison, this 192 cell high-maximum security prison facility of approximately 70,000 SF was designed to house Georgia’s Death Row inmates.
The program included a central administration/support area and two housing units all connected by an interior corridor as well as significant inmate healthcare services. Each housing unit has three wings containing two levels of cells around a two-story dayroom. The high-maximum nature of the facility mandates indirect supervision with enclosed control stations in the housing units.
